Longarm quilting is a service offered to those who have a quilt top finished, but aren't able to quilt it on their home sewing machine, nor by hand. The cost for this service varies and is determined by the square inch (area) of your quilt top and the type of quilting you want done on the quilt.
Other factors that may add to the price are batting and backing fabric; whether or not you purchase those from me or supply them yourself. If you are supplying the batting and backing fabric, confirm that they measure a minimum of 8 inches wider and longer than the quilt top so they can be properly loaded onto the longarm machine.
Edge 2 Edge quilting starts at $.02/sq in. If you have boarders that need separate quilting that starts at $.03 sq in. and depending on editing/cropping etc the price changes.
Custom quilting is anything that is specific to a certain area of the quilt, or a particular style pattern you would like to use other than a meander and starts at $.05/sq in.
If you want the quilt to be bound (binding added), there is an additional fee of $.08/inch around the perimeter of the quilt for each of the following steps: making, attaching (onto back of the quilt), and machine sewing the front. I do NOT hand sew binding.
When you send in your quilt, please ensure the backing is squared and both quilt back and top have been ironed. We basically don't want any creases in the back of the quilt during quilting. Other than normal creases that may appear during shipment, if ironing and/or squaring have to be done before it's loaded onto the machine, a $10 fee for each of those will be applied to your order.
Purchasing this service just locks in your place in my quilting queue. Once I receive your quilt, I will contact you and discuss specifics and details and will mark this purchase as complete. Once details have been agreed upon, I will create a new order with all the details we discussed and a purchase price for the services rendered. It will then take approximately 1-2 weeks to complete the quilt before I ship it back to you.
Because there is so much involved in this service, please don't hesitate to contact me with your questions. I'll be glad to work with you and consult to get it just the way you want it.
To purchase this service, the minimum fee is listed as the price. Once purchased, I'll contact you to work through the details and give you the instructions to send it to me.
